There's a fine art to being a good director, you have to be able to be truthful to the script, convey a clear vision to the crew, guide actors through the journey of their characters, and inspire the post production team.
It's the job of an editor to take the puzzle that's in a hundred pieces, that the director and/or producers have given you, and put together the picture that was intended.
The most difficult job in film is producing. It is the job of a producer to successfully take a film from development into pre-production, then into production and into post-production and finally into the marketplace.
